Using the service
These terms apply to File to Markdown at markitdowntools.com. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use it for an organization, you must have authority to act for that organization. For questions, contact support@markitdowntools.com.
What the converter supports
The current tool converts one text-based PDF at a time, with a limit of 10 MB and 50 pages per file. You can upload a file or provide a publicly accessible direct PDF link. Scanned pages need OCR before conversion. Images, complex tables, columns, and unusual layouts may not be reproduced accurately.
Markdown is an editable text format, not a visual copy of the PDF. Check the converted content before relying on it or publishing it. Partial conversion notices identify pages for which text could not be extracted. We do not guarantee complete or error-free output.
Your content and responsibilities
You retain your rights in the documents you submit and the content they contain. You give us permission to process them only as needed to provide the requested conversion. You are responsible for having the rights and permission to upload a document or access it through a link.
Do not use the service to violate others' rights or applicable law, distribute malicious files, bypass access restrictions, probe private networks, or interfere with service availability. Do not circumvent file, page, rate, or account limits.
Accounts and privacy
Keep your sign-in account secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorized use. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. You can request account deletion through Contact.
Plans and payments
Paid purchases are not currently available. If paid plans are introduced, prices, quotas, renewal conditions, and cancellation or refund terms will be shown before you purchase. A current allowance does not promise permanent or unlimited access.
Availability and restrictions
The service may change or be interrupted for maintenance, security, or technical reasons. We may restrict access to prevent abuse or address a breach of these terms. Keep your original documents and download any results you need; the service is not a backup or document storage service.
Liability and your legal rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or suitability for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes rights, remedies, or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. The updated date appears at the top of this page. We will give notice of material changes where required. Contact us if you have a concern about the service or these terms.
