Your PDFs and conversion results
When you upload a PDF, our server processes it to extract text and generate Markdown. When you provide a PDF link, our server downloads that document from the address you provide. The source website can see that request. Conversion does not happen entirely in your browser.
Uploaded or downloaded PDFs are held in temporary server storage during processing and removed when the conversion completes or fails. If a process is interrupted, temporary-file cleanup runs when the conversion service restarts. We do not keep an account document library or use document contents to train AI models. The current converter extracts existing text; it does not send your document to a generative AI service.
Results remain in the open browser tab until you clear them, replace them, or leave the page. A result may also be saved in this tab's session storage while you sign in. It can only be restored if it is less than 30 minutes old, and is removed on restoration or sign-out. An unused draft may remain in browser storage until the tab is closed or site data is cleared. Files you download are stored on your own device.
Account and support information
Google sign-in gives us your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile picture. We use this information to create and authenticate your account and display your profile. We do not request access to your Gmail messages or Google Drive files. Your browser may contact Google to display your profile picture.
We keep account details while your account is active. If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include. Please avoid sending sensitive documents or passwords. We use support messages to answer your request and keep relevant records while the issue is being handled and for any necessary legal or security obligations.
Security and service logs
We process technical information such as IP addresses and request timing to run the service, limit abuse, and diagnose failures. Application request logs record the request method, path, status, and duration; they do not intentionally record uploaded document contents or PDF link query strings. Infrastructure providers may also process network and security logs. Logs are rotated and are not intended as a permanent record of your documents.
Cookies and browser storage
Your language choice is saved in local storage on this browser until you change it or clear site data.
Essential storage supports sign-in, security, and your saved privacy choices. These functions cannot be disabled through our cookie panel, but you can clear site data in your browser; this may sign you out. Cookie choices are remembered for up to 180 days.
If optional Google Analytics is enabled, it is used only after you opt in. Our analytics integration measures public information pages and excludes the converter, sign-in, and account screens. It is configured without advertising personalization or Google signals. Cookie settings show which optional services are currently available.
You can withdraw optional consent at any time. This stops future collection by that integration and clears its analytics cookies in this browser; it does not automatically erase information already collected.
Why information is used and who receives it
We use information to provide the conversion and account features you request, maintain service security, and respond to support requests. Where applicable, our legal bases are performing our agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent for optional analytics. You can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Service providers may process information to supply hosting, sign-in, email delivery, and security. Google provides sign-in and, only when enabled and accepted, analytics. Cloudflare provides domain and email routing services. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users. We do not sell your personal information or use your PDFs for targeted advertising.
Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Applicable safeguards for international transfers depend on the provider and the law that applies. Contact us for information about the providers relevant to your request.
Your choices and requests
You can download an account summary and clear a saved sign-in conversion draft from Account settings. For access to other personal information, correction, account deletion, or questions about retention, use our privacy request contact. We may need to verify account ownership before acting. Submitting a deletion request does not delete an account immediately.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, or objection to processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. We respond within the time required by applicable law. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or resolving disputes; we will explain any applicable exceptions when responding.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our data practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated through the service where appropriate.
